Dating Coach Services

Recently, a new cultural phenomenon began to appear. In our culture, it seems like people have more and more trouble with social relationships including romantic ones. This has given rise to the concept of dating coaches. Dating coaches help people who have had trouble starting or maintaining their desired romantic relationships. Schooling for dating coaches seems to vary, but most have taken a program for being a life coach, and they may have done more specialized training in relationship coaching. If you are thinking of seeking dating coach services, you may try to inquire into the background and training of a potential coach.

How Coaching Works

When you meet with a dating coach, he or she will first try to get to know you as well as go over your history of relationships and the problems you're experiencing. The coach will then begin to outline goals for you. You, the client, can also state your particular hopes and goals. A dating coach will help you achieve your desired goals in the most efficient way possible. Coaching should be supportive and encouraging in nature. Often, dating coaching consists of one-on-one meetings with a coach and plays out kind of similarly to a counseling session. Part of the work may include role-playing, where the coach plays your potential date and helps you practice conversation and social skills. Coaching may also consist of seminars and group meetings.

Why See a Dating Coach?

There are various reasons why people might hire a dating coach. People may have one or more recurring difficulties in relationships. Some examples are noted herein.

  • If you have a history of being suddenly "dumped," (being broken up with by the other party), that is one reason to reach out to a dating coach for advice and help. There may be things about your behavior that you don't understand that are driving people away.
  • Perhaps you have little trouble finding people for dates, but you are not getting many second dates. This is another problem a coach might be able to help you with.
  • Whether or not you have had problems with dating, you may simply be interested in understanding the opposite sex and how they tend to think in social relationships. Dating coaches are not psychologists or social scientists, but they can still do a lot to help you understand general things about the opposite sex in your culture.
  • Some people get help from dating coaches if they have anxiety about meeting people. While the coach is no replacement for a psychologist for significant, recurring social anxiety, he or she should be able to help with specific worries related to dates or approaching the opposite sex.
About Me
Looking After Your Children

When I first had kids, I thought it was more about looking like you knew what you were doing than actually knowing how to do it. I tried my best, but it always seemed like things weren't going my way. My babies had a hard time sleeping, my toddler was always making messes, and my school-age children had trouble following directions in class. To make things right, I hired a family counselor to come in and work with us to streamline our day to day ritual. I learned a lot about family relationships from her, and I can honestly say that she made a big difference for us. Check out this blog for more information.
